This past week I finished the course Making Sense Of Affiliate Marketing, created by Michelle of Making Sense of Cents. Michelle’s story is a true inspiration. One of the reasons I finally got the courage to start blogging. Michelle is consistently earning $50,000+ a month just from affiliate marketing alone. Amazing, right?
Thru the years I have watched Michelle’s blog and monthly income reports grow to crazy numbers. Time and time again I have been shocked at how much money she makes-monthly. Recently, I saw one of her income reports that honestly made me sick (in a good way). She is banking over $102,000 a month people (A MONTH), don’t believe me… – you can read it for yourself here.
So, what is affiliate marketing? Well, it’s affiliate marketing is a way to monetize your blog. Essentially you get paid to share products you love with your readers. How amazing is that?! Michelle is obviously a pro at making big money this way! So, when Michelle announced she was offering a course on how to Make Sense Of Affiliate Marketing I was on board! Like white on rice! I mean she does make over $50k a month from affiliate marketing, so why would you not want to learn from her!
So, are you looking to make some extra money? I SURE AM! Would you like to become a full time stay at home mom, yet still make money? SUREEEE DO! Please, PLEASE sign me up! Well, what if I told you that you could make a F.T. income and still be a S.A.H.M. simply by Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing!

Michelle is going to explain why she started blogging, how she got into affiliate marketing, what her course can do for you, how it will benefit you, and more! So without further ado here is Michelle from Making Sense of Cents to talk about her course Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing.
What got you into blogging?
Hello! My name is Michelle Schroeder-Gardner and I own the personal finance blog Making Sense of Cents.
Around five years ago, I created Making Sense of Cents with the aim of teaching people money saving tips as well as to talk about my financial situation after reading a magazine that featured a personal finance website in one of their articles.
I became super interested in that website and the personal finance blogging community, and my interest in blogging grew crazy fast from there. This is funny because before I started my blog in 2011, I had no idea about what blogs were, that they could even make money, or anything else.
I did not create my blog with the intention of making money blogging. It was all just a hobby and an outlet I then realized how much I loved blogging and realized that it was for me, so now I am a full-time blogger!
I started blogging full-time in October of 2013 and I haven’t looked back once. Blogging has completely changed my life for the better and it’s something that I recommend everyone try if they are interested.
On my blog Making Sense of Cents, I talk a lot about different ways to make extra money, the best ways to save money, achieving your dream life, RVing (me and my husband RV full-time), and more. I love running Making Sense of Cents and I am very happy that this is now my full-time career, my business, and pretty much my life.
What were your main challenges in growing your blog?
I didn’t start my blog with the intention of making money blogging, so traffic wasn’t a huge concern for me in the beginning. Now, the main challenge is staying up to date on everything because there are so many different ways to grow a blog as well as numerous social media websites!
What made you realize that affiliate marketing was the way to go?
I’ve been interested in affiliate marketing for a few years, but I never thought it was possible before. I always thought that a blogger had to have a pretty big readership base as well as a lot of page views in order to be successful with affiliate marketing.
But, then I realized that I was wrong. One day I decided to give myself a goal of earning affiliate income, and I worked towards achieving that goal. I started by making a little bit each month, and then it just continued to grow month after month and I became addicted to continue growing it further and further. I now know that you don’t need a ton of page views or a huge following in order to make a great income through affiliate marketing.
Earning affiliate income is great because it can feel quite passive. You can create just one blog post or social media post, and potentially earn money from it years down the line, as long as you keep getting traffic and readers to it.
Do you have any recommendations for new bloggers?
Oh yes, for sure! One big blogging mistake that I have noticed other bloggers and online influencers make is that many do not make the effort to network and to form friendships in their community. Networking is extremely important as a blogger and I believe bloggers should see others in the blogging world as your colleagues and friends, not your enemies or competition.
Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing will benefit you if:
- You want to create or grow a profitable blog.
- You want to make affiliate income while you sleep or when you are on vacation.
- You have tried affiliate marketing in the past but didn’t have much luck with it.
- You want to spend more time with your family and friends, and have a better work-life balance.
- You love blogging and want to be able to grow your blog, build trust with your audience, and help more people!
In my course, Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing, there are over 30 lessons, helpful worksheets, bonuses worth over $500, an amazing mastermind Facebook group, and more.
What took you so long to create this course??? LOL
Haha, right? I don’t know why I waited so long! I have heard so many great reviews from the course and so many amazing success stories already from students who have taken the course. I definitely should have created this course sooner!
What will you be teaching in the course?
In Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing, students will learn:
- An introduction to affiliate marketing. This is so that I can clear up any questions that a person may have.
- The exact things I’ve done in order to make $400,000 from just ONE blog post
- How to select the right affiliate products to promote to your audience
- The steps to increase your conversion rate
- How to build trust with your following and new readers
- The required disclosures and laws that you need to know about
- The very important affiliate marketing tool you need
- The various strategies you should be using in order to have a successful affiliate marketing strategy
What is the main thing you want your students to take away from your course?
I want all of my students to know that you can make money through affiliate income, and you can do it in a non-salesy way without scaring away your followers. Many, many bloggers are afraid of affiliate marketing because of two reasons: 1) They don’t think they have a large enough platform; 2) They are afraid of being too “salesy.” I have never had someone tell me that I’m salesy or pushy, and I’ve even had people ask me how I make money through affiliate marketing because they never see me try to sell things. So, yes, it is possible to provide high-quality content for your readers without being pushy!
There it is guys! You have had your questions answered from the creator herself!
The price for this course is $197. That may sound like a lot, but it is TOTALLY worth every penny. Word on the street is that this price will be going up. Take advantage now! Plus, you get a few bonuses with the course, such a access to a Facebook mastermind group that Michelle created only for students of the course. A Pinterest strategy from the Pinterest expert Rosemarie Groner. The bonuses alone are worth over $500. This course really should cost more as it’s value is wayyy more than the $197 price tag.
This course will help new bloggers and established bloggers alike. It will help you save time by being able to take these strategies and apply them immediately. You won’t have to learn over the years, it’s all jam packed in the course. There is so much invaluable information included in this course. You will also learn maximize your affiliate strategy without coming off as “salesy” or “pushy”.
Making Sense Of Affiliate Marketing is a course for anyone looking to maximize their earnings potential! Now let’s go get em’ and get serious about monetization!!
How are you monetizing your blog? Do you use affiliates? What are they?
